English grammar contains different verb categories which have their unique identity and function in the sentence structure. Physical Verbs
Physical verbs are action verbs. They depict some specific physical actions. If performing of an action involves a movement of your body or use of some tool, you use physical verbs to show it. For example, Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall; My pen writes quickly after the examiner announces the last 10 minutes of the exam; People must vote in the election; and should we Swim in the pool? Even when the action is not very active, or if the action takes place with the movement of the body or a tool, you count it a physical verb.

- They know the answer.
- My advisor recognized me from across the room.
- Does she believe everything you tell her?
States of Being Verbs
These are also referred to as linking verbs. State of being verbs depict situations of conditions that exist. These are inactive verbs since they do not perform any action. They are different form of to be. These are found in the form of am, is, and are. State of being verbs are often complemented by adjectives.

- I am a student.
- They are stage performers.
- She is sick.
