    What is the difference between a Gerund and an Infinitive. Give short answer.
    1) Gerunds:
    The “ing” form of verb used as a noun in
    the sentence is called Gerunds.
    For example:
    1. He is playing a cricket

    2) Infinitive:
    Infinitive is the first form of verb
    which proceed by “to” when used as a
    noun is called Infinitive.
    For example:
    1.I like to play cricket.

    Eating is gerund used a subject in example 1
    example 2:She enjoys reading.
    Reading is gerund used as object in example 2

    example :
    1.I want to sleep (here ‘to sleep’ is infinitive used as object)
