Gerund:
Gerund is the ing form of a verb used as a noun.
Gerund=verb+ing=>used as a noun
Example:
Playing tennis is fun.
In this example “playing” is gerund because it is the ing form of verb used as a noun.
Infinitive:
Infinitive is the form of verb that often acts as a noun and preceeded and proceeded by the word to.
Example:
I like to play.
In this example “to play” is infinitive because in this to is preceeded by the verb play and act as a noun.
Gerund and infinitive have same function but different structure.

Gerund:-

e.g Playing cricket is my hobby.
In above example playing is gerund.

Infinitive:-
The first form of verb proceed by’to’ used as noun known as infinitive.
e.g to read Quran daily is good habit.
In above example ‘to read’ is infinitive

GERUND:
gerund is the -ing form of verb used as noun
example 1:Eating slowly is good habit.
Eating is gerund used a subject in example 1
example 2:She enjoys reading.
Reading is gerund used as object in example 2
INFINITIVE:
simple form of verb of verb with a ‘to’ before it makes it infinitive
to+simple form of verb =infinitive
example :
1.I want to sleep (here ‘to sleep’ is infinitive used as object)
2.She always brings an umbrella to use if it rains(here ‘to use’ is infinitive used as adjective )
